Shiatsu Therapy is a 60 to 90 minute session of Japanese style massage in combination with light stretches. No oils are used and the patient is asked to wear comfortable clothing.

It is a deeply relaxing  whole body  technique, which is useful for a wide range of physical problems (i.e shoulder/back pain/ digestive issues), as well as for stress management and other emotional imbalances.

The session begins with questioning about your lifestyle habits and an in depth health history intake form (click for online version) to get a clear picture of your health and what might be the root cause of your ailment. Sometimes called acupressure massage, shiatsu helps to promote healing by  balancing the flow of  energy  in the meridians (channels) and creating a greater harmony of body, mind and emotions.

Through manual palpation of your chief complaint, as well as your abdomen (in japanese a “hara” diagnosis) the therapist will be able to devise an appropriate and effective treatment plan for your health condition needs. (see how shiatsu can help you…..read on)
